There are concerts that make such a huge impression that you know right away they’ll stay with you for a lifetime. BTS’s performance in Munich turned out to be just that kind of experience for me. On Saturday, July 18, the European leg of the Arirang World Tour came to an end, and I had the opportunity to attend one of the two concerts held at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

When we came across Tabi Harlowe, an up-and-coming New York City based indie rock artist, we couldn’t help but fall in love. Harlowe has a background as a musical theatre performer and is already making waves with her debut single ‘Erosion’. An acoustic version of the track featured on NPR: Tiny Desk, evoking an alt-rock, Stevie Nicks inspired vibe. Starfreak Mag was lucky enough to catch up with Tabi Harlowe about her career change from Broadway actor to rock artist, and her profound love of the colour blue.

Yet, stepping into the timber-lined interior of The Ivy House on a scorching hot summer day, a visitor gets a distinct sense that a quiet counter-revolution is taking root. This is the home of the Summer Solstice edition of Turning of the Seasons, a seasonal folk series curated by Florence Rose Broomfield that is fast becoming a popular fixture of London’s folk music scene.

It was during these opening moments that the Roundhouse’s acoustics really became apparent. Williams’ voice filled the room effortlessly, echoing beautifully around the circular venue.

Emerging actors are often discussed in terms of where their careers might lead. More revealing, however, is the work they are already producing and the artistic concerns that begin to emerge across it. What distinguishes American actor Ethan McKinney, a London-based graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with further classical training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), is not simply the variety of material he has undertaken, but the consistency with which his performances return to questions of identity, contradiction and transformation.
