They wasted no time making an impression. Before the first song had even properly begun, the frontman shouted “Brighton!” into the microphone and immediately drew the crowd in. From that moment on, the band carried themselves with confidence, delivering tracks reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys and The Kooks.
The audience itself was diverse, with a mix of ages and genders. Despite being an early set, the crowd responded well, and the band made sure to thank everyone for arriving early enough to catch their performance.
Throughout the show, their stage communication felt natural and engaging. The second track was a bit of a deep cut that unfortunately doesn’t get performed live as much as it should. Then came a slower number which added a quieter and appreciated, dimension to the set.
The final song of their set didn’t have a title yet, and they jokingly asked the audience for suggestions on what it should be called. Light-hearted moments like this are always a nice touch and they linger after the show ends.
The venue wasn’t completely packed and their set time was short, as per usual for support acts, but they left us wanting more. They definitely accomplished what they set out to do.
