London’s Next Sound Obsession: Meet Ali Bleu

In a city where every corner hums with music, from the basslines spilling out of Shoreditch bars to the late-night acoustic sessions in Soho cafés, London-based artist Ali Bleu is quietly (and sometimes not-so-quietly) carving out his own space.

He’s been making music for as long as he can remember, first playing in bands, then producing and writing with a roster of different artists. But now? Now, he’s stepping into the spotlight with his own project, unapologetically determined to release every idea, every sound, every beat he’s been keeping in his back pocket.

“I grew up on Elvis, James Brown, and Michael Jackson,” he says, as if replaying the soundtrack of his own coming-of-age. “Then I had my alt/emo phase at thirteen – started playing in bands – and from there, I took in anything I thought was well-written and genuine.” In other words, his playlist is a genre buffet: rock and roll swagger, soul warmth, indie grit, and a “wow factor” that transcends category.

Trying to label Ali Bleu’s sound is like trying to contain London’s energy in a single street – impossible. “It’s raw but polished, rock n roll but chic,” he says. “Vibrant, groovy, sincere. In 2025, genre is more of a tool than a boundary.”

His creative process is equally fluid. “Music almost always comes first,” he explains. “When inspiration strikes, the music writes itself, but lyrics take time.” Those lyrics, often born from personal experiences and sharp observations, are steeped in honesty. “Writing helps me reflect,” he says. “If something’s frustrating, putting it into a song can ease my mind.” His influences in this department? The atmospheric precision of Sade and the timeless clarity of The Beatles – Paul for the elegance, John for the ease.

But being an independent artist isn’t all groove and glitter. “It’s a whole lifestyle,” he admits. “Writing, recording, performing, filming, editing… That’s the fun part. The hard part is navigating an overwhelming, ever-changing industry.”

Still, there’s no cynicism in his tone. Ali Bleu’s music is designed to connect. “Whether you want to dance in a club or reflect alone in your room, I just want people to know I’m being genuine.”

And when it’s time to step on stage? No elaborate pre-show rituals, so just water, a quick vocal warm-up, and the focus to keep things simple. “If I overthink it, I get in my head.”

The next chapter is already in motion: new recordings are in the works, fresh releases are on the horizon, and live shows will soon follow. In the meantime, he’s inviting listeners to step into his world – one post, one song, one groove at a time.
