musicAerosmith collaborates with Yungblud

Aerosmith and Yungblud Join Forces for Collaborative EP – One More Time.

Words by Marios Stamos

After a long 12-year period without new music, multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® inductees Aerosmith are finally back, this time with their most unexpected collaboration yet. An explosive EP with British rockstar YUNGBLUD that proves rock and roll’s bloodline runs deeper than anyone imagined.

“One More Time,” produced by Matt Schwartz, drops on 21 November via Capitol Records. But when YUNGBLUD (real name Dominic Harrison) walked into the studio to feature on the 9-minute epic “Hello Heaven, Hello”, it quickly turned into a chemistry experiment that nobody wanted to end. One writing session became five tracks, including the classic “Back In The Saddle,” which received the 2025 Mix treatment, proving that there’s no generation gap too wide for music to bridge.

The lead single “My Only Angel” showcases exactly what happens when Steven Tyler’s towering vocals meet YUNGBLUD’s raw energy. The opening lines, ‘Will you cry, if I called you my angel? Would you leave me one more time?’ are sung by Steven Tyler a cappella. From there, the track builds with delay-soaked guitar echoes, rumbling basslines, and soft piano before both frontmen lean into hypnotic harmonies. Then Joe Perry’s signature fret-burning solo takes the stage, and suddenly you’re witnessing the chemistry between two generations of rock royalty in real time.

But “My Only Angel is just the beginning. The complete tracklist reveals the full scope of this intergenerational rock mix:

1. My Only Angel

2. Problems

3. Wild Woman

4. A Thousand Days

5. Back In The Saddle (2025 Mix)

Beyond the lead single, the EP showcases YUNGBLUD’s raw essence colliding with legendary musicianship at every twist and turn.

Joe Perry’s and Brad Whitford’s guitars alongside Tom Hamilton’s bass are an explosive reminder of why this legendary band has been tearing up studios and arenas for all these decades. Joey Kramer’s rhythmic foundation is coupled with longtime friend Matt Sorum (former drummer of Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver), who lends his powerhouse presence behind the kit across the project. And, of course, Tyler’s unmistakable voice intertwines with YUNGBLUD’s across every track, creating harmonies that feel both nostalgic and refreshingly new.

Making music with YUNGBLUD has been like plugging into pure electricity, according to Steven Tyler. The Aerosmith frontman reflects on their collaboration: “Here’s this kid who grew up on our records, and now we’re in the studio together creating something that bridges generations. When we sang together for the first time, I could feel that same fire that drove us when we were starting out in Boston. Yungblud is writing the next chapter in rock history. And we’re honoured to write it with him. Rock and roll is timeless when you pour your heart and soul into it.”

Guitarist Joe Perry echoes the sentiment, emphasising the transformative energy of their sessions: “You know it’s special when you pick up your guitar and the energy in the room completely shifts. Working with YUNGBLUD reminded us why we fell in love with rock and roll in the first place. It’s raw, it’s rebellious, and it refuses to be tamed. These new songs have teeth, and that’s exactly what rock needs right now. This is Aerosmith doing what we do best: pushing forward, while staying true to who we are.”

The collaboration extends beyond just the music. The EP artwork was designed exclusively by Joe Foti of Chrome Hearts, marking the first time the luxury brand has created album artwork. This piece of art combines Aerosmith’s legendary status with YUNGBLUD’s Gen Z edge in a design that’s as striking as the music itself.

Following their magnetic performance at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards,One More Time” feels less like a nostalgic throwback and more like a statement: rock and roll isn’t just alive, it’s evolving. And sometimes evolution looks like rock gods and a punk finding the same fire in a studio, proving that when you pour your heart and soul into it, rock and roll truly is timeless.
