Feeder Blackpool Show Review

Last Friday, July 24th, the iconic rock band Feeder took the stage at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens to put on a wild show for their loyal, dedicated fanbase. 

Bringing along a stacked bill with Balancing Act, A & The Futureheads opening up the show. First on the lineup was Balancing Act, the world’s future favourite band, who warmed up the crowd with their electric energy and powerful sound. Followed by A, who offered humour alongside their gritty guitars, and lastly The Futureheads, who brought some Sunderland fun to the stage.

Finally, just after 9 pm, it was the moment thousands of people had been waiting for. The lights were dim, the pre-show playlist came to a halt, and Feeder came walking out to the loudest cheers.

Beginning their show with ‘Just The Way I’m Feeling’, anybody could feel the shift of emotion in the room, continued by an array of a setlist with iconic tracks such as ‘Buck Rogers’ and ‘Feeling A Moment’. For someone unfamiliar with Feeder, the first thing I noticed was the love and passion that radiates from the audience, dancing with their friends, holding up their children on their shoulders, and chanting “FEEDER FEEDER!” in between each song.

Once the set came to an end, the crowd continuously yelled for an encore, booing once the lights were on, unable to accept that it was time to go. Standing towards the side of the room, I could see the band debating what to do, and if they had time for just one more, the audience was just not giving up. 

Then, the lights were dimmed once again, and the band owned the stage one last time to play ‘Just A Day’, looking around, I could see people from
all different walks of life united by screaming the words and jumping around to their favourite artist. It’s clear that, although starting out in 1992, there is much more in store for Feeder.
