First off, tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is F3miii and I make music.
So how did it happen that we meet in Kraków, Poland?
Yeah. So, “Noble” I posted it on the 16th of December. It was just a quick idea. That’s what I made in like 4 hours or something. And I really liked this, so I text my manager something like, “Oh, I think this is the one, guys.” I remember I said it to all my friends. Then I posted it and it was doing really well. A girl from Poland called Lidia, made a video to it – blew up the song. There was just a whole lot of getting DMs in Polish, and I was like “I can’t even understand this.” I had to translate what they’re saying, but they were all so loving comments. So I was like, yeah, I need to come to Poland. That’s what brought me over here.
Okay, so do you have a maybe a recipe for making a hit song, like, how it was with Noble? Tell us about it.
Um, I don’t think I have a recipe. I think I just make really good music. And Noble was just the one that took off. I’m even trying to sound cocky, whatever. I’m really good at what I do. I’ve been doing this for a long time, I’ve grown up around so many different musicians that taught me so many things. I was a fan of them. So I was always watching. I’m a big observer. I like learning what people did good and what people did bad. And then I translate that over to music when I listen to a song. Why do I like this song? I’d be like, oh, is it the beat in the song or is it how the person sang this?
That’s so sweet. So tell us, how do you create music? Like, are you the type to craft every detail or do you chase the feeling, maybe?
I do everything myself. I really, really go off on how I’m feeling. Like “Noble”, I was listening to all sorts of music. Lots of people think I was listening to like Frank Ocean, but I actually wasn’t. I was listening a lot of this artist called Havoc. I really liked the swing of the song, and then I was listening to Maui Wowie. I had an obsession with that song for a little bit. So that’s when I made it. The way I marketed was like, that’s all I’ve been doing. If you actually go on my old TikToks I have the same caption all the time. It just worked with this song.
So it was meant to be.
Yeah, I think it was meant to be.
I also wanted to ask about that because people call you on TikTok a Frank Ocean reincarnation. So how do you feel about that and how do you feel this ties to creating your own individual path as an artist and your own sound?
That’s what happens with blowing up on TikTok. Like whatever people are used to is what they’ll associate you with. But me as my own, it’s like, I’ve been making music for about 8 years and I’m kind of crafting my own sound and I have been for a while. People go like “This Frank Ocean” and it’s a compliment as well. Like Frank Ocean is one of my goats. You compare it to Frank Ocean? I can’t complain.
Where do you feel the most like yourself when you’re creating music?
That’s a cool question. Where do I feel? I say… When I am home? I like making music in my room. I think I just have all the freedom to myself to do whatever I want. There’s no pressure or anybody, like, you’re in the studio with being like “Oh, I have to write this.” I have to make big and the best song ever after. You can just keep on trial and error in your room and no one’s there to judge you, you know, you have a lot of creativity and access as well. I can grab my guitars. I can make whatever I want. So, um, yeah, I say at home is when I feel like my most self.
Do you have like your own sacred space?
Yes, I do, I love my bedroom. I love it so much.
So you prefer to create music in your own house, in your own space rather than studio?
I do like the studio. If I am about to work in the studio, I have to have a big window. Like I just love seeing the song coming in and stuff like that. I really love just being able to play the song and just stare outside. It just fuels me with ideas.
That’s so great. Who or what inspires you the most?
Who or what? That’s great. I say, with what – experiences, I think. I like writing from things I experience because that’s the easiest way for me. I notice when I don’t make music is when I’m just sitting at home all the time and then I realise, oh, I make my best music, when I’m going outside, with my friends or like go to Poland. Kind of experiencing new things because, there’s ever so much you can write about, you have to start creating new things in your life to be able to write. Yeah. I think experience is just like my big thing. I love writing things that are personal to me or things that are actually true. I find it hard to write fictional, everything I write is true. And who – I say, my friends, I’m a big fan. They all make music and so on. I’m very inspired by who they are as people. I like their art as well. They always inspire. Or even just hanging out with them.
So you released two songs today. Why did you decide to have your release day in Poland?
It was funny enough. So we submitted the song earlier that day on Wednesday and we were like, “When can we go Poland, Friday?” It was like, yeah, let’s have a release and celebrate and explore Poland!
Releasing 2 songs at once feels kind of intentional. Do they represent 2 different sides of something or are they like pieces of the same story? What would you say?
Actually, pieces of the same story. I’m feeling much more, I kind of wanted to release from a bit more strip back perspective. Like, you know, I always like making people dance. But this time I want people to feel.
Yeah, I listened to these songs today when I woke up. And I also felt that they’re a bit more intimate somehow.
Yeah, I always love making dance music and stuff like that. And I was like, you know what, let me strip it back a little bit. I want people to feel. And then when the song comes out, I’ll come back with a lot more dancing.
What do you want to experience the most as an upcoming artist?
That’s a cool question. Oh, I think one is hearing my song on a radio in a different country. The other thing is meet the people that listen to my music. I love people. I’m a big people’s person. I like connection, human connection, seeing real life. And what else? Performing in countries I’ve just never been to. Yeah, I think that’s a that’s a big one.
Okay, so can we count on an album or maybe an EP from you? How long do we have to wait?
I think an album is something I take a lot of pride in. And I want to give it a time. I want to craft it. I don’t want to rush anything. For an EP, not that long. I think the next 2 months. I think so. Hope so. Hope so. Fingers crossed.
Okay, do you plan any tour? When can we see you?
Yes, I would love to do a tour. Um, I definitely want to do lot of shows. Our number one stop would be Poland. Has to be Poland. I’m not sure when. But not too long.
Okay, so can you tell the people where they can find you and what’s upcoming for you?
You can find me everywhere with the name F3miii. And what’s coming up next is a project!
