Fiona-Lee Releases Euphoric New Single “Imposter”
Words by Paula Zawicka
Rising Yorkshire artist Fiona-Lee has released her striking new single “Imposter”, out now via Gravity / Capitol Records. Premiered on BBC Radio 1 and spotlighted as a Next Wave pick by Sian Eleri, the track arrives as the follow-up to September’s “Victim” and lands on the same night as her sold-out debut UK headline show at Leeds’ Oporto.
Blending vibrato-rich, Florence Welch-esque vocals with a huge emotional swell, “Imposter” showcases Fiona-Lee at her boldest yet. The song surges with soaring electric guitars, gut-wrenching honesty, and intense buildup that turns into a soft acoustic outro. It’s a confident step forward from an artist already praised for her rawness and vulnerability.
The single was produced by Thom Lewis, known for his work on Sam Fender’s Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under. “Imposter,” Fiona-Lee says, was born from wrestling with intense self-doubt: “This song shares my experience with imposter syndrome… I wrote it during a brief moment of freedom from that weight, when I could finally see things clearly and express myself authentically.”
Following a summer supporting CMAT, Fiona-Lee is gearing up for more UK dates with Miles Kane and Seb Lowe through December and January, with even more live shows expected in early 2026. With momentum building and her most audacious single now out in the world, Fiona-Lee is firmly marking herself as one to watch.
“Imposter” is available now on all digital platforms.
