Laura Pieri Embraces Temptation With New Single, “Just A Little”

Words by Marios Stamos

Pop star Laura Pieri concludes a month of Halloween-themed narratives with the debut of her latest single, “Just a Little,” available on all streaming services.

During October, Pieri reinterpreted classic tracks through a collection of hauntingly dramatic covers. Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” (The Vampire), Charli xcx’s “party 4 u” (The Siren), and Rihanna’s “Disturbia” (The Werewolf) each examine a distinct representation of female strength.

A true lover of the fine arts, Pieri tackles each project from multiple angles. She brings her work to life through striking visual pieces, stories on her recently launched Substack, and her yearly Halloween celebration in New York at The Box.

With “Just a Little,” Pieri brought her month-long artistic vision to a powerful conclusion. The mesmerising, alluring latest release examines the friction between desire and restraint. It’s centred on the excitement of toying with risk without entirely giving in to it.

Sweet and sour, playful and self-aware, ‘Just a Little’ carries the belief that desire and shame are two sides of the same coin,” Pieri shares. “I’ve always struggled with feeling like I’m too much, like I don’t belong, like being this way made me broken. ‘Just a Little’ became a kind of reclamation, not just of desire, but of self-permission. It’s the moment I stopped trying to edit my instincts to fit someone else’s moral architecture. Because aren’t we all, just a little sinful?”

“Just a Little” is the start of a new chapter for Pieri. In our interview, she teased that the single would be “fun, cheeky and a little sexy,” and she has overdelivered on every promise.
